H.P. Lovecraft 1890 – 1937. Although H.P. Lovecraft lived only a short 46 years, he is believed to be the master writer of "Weird Fiction" filled with nightmares, fright, fear, demons, and terror. He wrote prolifically , including short stories, articles, and at least 100,000 letters.
His interest in all things weird was encouraged by his grandfathers gothic storytelling, and his knowledge of chemistry, astronomy, and mythology was often incorporated into his tales. It was not until after hi death that his works were actually published in hard cover form by Arkham House and are now read world wide.
